I discovered Pilates for the first time during the pandemic and have been doing it for almost 9 months now (Since December 2020). I take weekly private lessons with Regina as well as a small group class with her. I love how Pilates makes me feel and it's now my favorite "me" time during the week. In a relatively short period of time, Pilates has helped transform my body. I am stronger and leaner, I no longer have any lower back or hip pain, and I literally stand taller and am much more aware of my posture. I couldn't point the toes in my right foot for years due to an old tendon injury, and Pilates is finally helping to heal it! And best of all, the chronic shoulder/chest/armpit tightness and numbness that I've struggled with for 2 years as a result of radiation treatment is slowly starting to ease. Regina is a wonderful teacher and coach, always encouraging, kind and attentive. I'm so glad that I found Pilates and Regina! - Elizabeth B. |
Before pilates I experienced severe tension headaches that resulted in me taking headache tablets almost daily to reduce the pain. I’ve had these headaches since I was a teenager and they stem from bad posture. Despite being a dancer for 20 years I continued to have the headaches. I’ve tried yoga, acupuncture, physiotherapy, etc however nothing fully solved the problem. I started pilates at Equinox and met Regina. Her classes were always fun and she always focused on control. Once Covid hit the gyms closed the headaches were worse than ever. I decided to take my pilates practice to the next step and take private reformer classes with Regina. After the 3rd (private) class my headaches completely subsided, I’ve regained my posture and started to feel strong again. I’ve continued my classes and feel like a new woman. Thank you so much Regina. - Bianca F. |
Who knew I was going to get stronger during this whole thing (pandemic)? When we first started working together, One week into stay at home orders, I was told that I was being let go from a job I've had for over 10 years. After the initial shock hit and I regained clarity, I realized that this was something that I had needed in my life and quickly pivoted my energy and focus to become an independent contractor. I now have two clients and am so excited to move forward into the next stage of my career!! I'm so much more in touch with myself now. The collaborative environment you created has fostered powerful changes in my life...and for those who are reading this, you don't realize you are changing as the time goes by. For me, acknowledging and connecting the emotional component related to food and exercise was game changer for me. It made such a profound difference in how I processed and handled everything, in all aspects of my life.” - Kim S. |
I came to Regina after experiencing significant hip pain from a soccer injury that I had acquired a year and a half prior. I wanted to get healthy and be stronger, but the pain never went away. It prevented me from playing and it was also interfering with how I felt overall. Regina created a post-rehab program that balanced my body and moves out, and in about 8 months, I reached my goal of being able to play again! My life is pretty busy with a young family and a thriving business, so I need a pretty efficient workout that helps me stay energized and focused. Right now, we mostly do Pilates in our sessions together and I do other types of exercises on my own that she curates to go with my running. I’ve found that the work I do with her helps me not only stay more centered, but it also helps me find control way beyond the exercises we do together, and into my daily life. - Kenny K. |
I've been practicing Pilates for nearly 15 years, and since 2012 with Regina. In 2016, I had a shoulder injury and after a short rehab, I decided to up my Pilates routine with Regina to twice a week. We also did specific corrective work outside of the method that focused on my specific shoulder issue. In no time at all, my shoulder was 100% and I then started to notice how much more I got out of the exercise by doing it more often. My range of motion, ability to isolate muscles and overall energy has increased and I've seen a substantial change in my body. Regina is by far the best Pilates instructor that I've worked with and I would highly recommend her to any friends that are looking to start or continue a Pilates-based fitness routine.” - Matt M. |
My second child was finally sleeping through the night. My toddler was going full speed discovering and growing and just being a toddler. I had started back at work. Life was going fast and furious but I felt like I was stuck in a rut. I wanted to make some changes, but wasn’t sure where to start or what those changes should be. I decided to take Regina’s course to help me in that journey. You get what you put in with Regina’s methodology, and the best part was that I could do it on my own time. She provided a non-judgmental space and guided me through some much-needed introspection. I came out of the 6 weeks with a clearer vision of how to navigate my changing priorities. The bonus was that in my 1:1 session with her, we talked through several ideas around a trouble area I was having with my kids, and after implementing some of them, I feel like my kids and I are all better for it. - Haruka F. |
Sometimes you forget what really matters to you in a job\career, as you get lost in needing to make money, avoiding risks/mistakes, and taking care of yourself and your loved ones. You can get lost in the "sunk costs" of how much time and energy you have already "invested" in your current role or company, and find it hard to contemplate change, although you know that you are frustrated. Regina helped me to connect to my values and how I define success, as we explored making life and career changes. As I had been successful in my current position and had built a thriving business over ten years, it was difficult to contemplate my options or consider walking away. Regina worked with me to clarify what is important to me and gave me the strength and confidence to put myself out in the marketplace. I took each step cautiously, as I evaluated other companies, roles, culture and compensation. I am still evaluating my career options, but feel confident that whatever move I make, I will fully understand that trade-offs. Remember, it's called work for a reason, it isn't supposed to be perfect, but it can be enjoyable and rewarding, and give you a sense of making an impact and earning a good living. Life is finite and we have options to make the most of our time here. Regina can help coach you through the chaos. I will warn you that sometimes Regina's questions and probing are challenging, but she is kind and compassionate, and you can tell her that you may not have the answers at that moment. If you plod through, I can assure you that it is worth the effort, as your decision making will be clearer and you will be happier. - Susan B. |
(In January) I was in a huge rut, an emotional low point, a space of self-distrust and really quite unsure of how to proceed. In addition, I had just gone through a period of enormous transformation & growth as I had gotten sober over the previous 2.5 years - so I was incredibly confused as to how I could have improved so much, and yet still feel lost. I'm so grateful that Regina became my coach at this point, because with her guidance over 8 months, I've been able to address my internal struggle and utilize tools to move toward resolution and toward growth that will allow me to continually address issues as they arise. One example is that at the end of July I was given a written warning at work for unsatisfactory performance. As a result of the work that I did with Regina, not only did I completely turn around my performance during August, but I was also selected as the Employee of the Month - literally a 180 degree turn around. At the conclusion of our work together, I'm in a space of self-forgiveness and self-trust. I'm able to go with the flow and take bumps in the road in stride. I'm the sparkly, effervescent, inspired woman that I know myself to be & I'm able to be as confident in my day to day life as I am on the dance floor grooving to my favorite track. Thank-you so much for all of your support, Regina, you are an amazing coach :) - Audrey G. |
